Conor Oberst

Last night I attended my first concert at the Minnesota Zoo amphitheater, and, let me tell you, it was marvelous. I think I’d love a Conor Oberst show anywhere, but being outdoors was perfect. And I honestly think the pouring rain that we were in made it even better. There are those shows that are perfected by the crowd, and sitting with a bunch of mega-fans as zoo staff handed out ponchos while the band played in the deluge made it a night to remember.

Conor played so many favorites of mine, including several deep cuts from his extensive catalog. With a musician who has been writing and recording since a young teenager, it’s always a treat to see what he’ll bring back to the stage from decades past.

This is one of his old, old songs that he played last night. I think it may have been the first time I’ve seen it live and it was just magic.

Here are a few photos from the night!
